Les Enfants de Pinocchio

There is a party in a housing project where a supermarket has just burnt down. The supermarket manager, a journalist, a sweetshop owner who doesn't like children, and a woman who can predict the future, experience the celebrations like figures of our time. All of this is punctuated by performances of songs by the inhabitants of the neighbourhood.

Florent Trochel went to le Fresnoy in 2005 and made two fiction shorts there: Scenarii in 2006 and Red Crab in the Landscape in 2007. An artist by training, his video and cinematographic realisations have been exhibited in several museums and international festivals. He has made several filmed documentaries on the work of choreographers and directors since 2004, and has worked with the director Joël Pommerat's company. Les Enfants de Pinocchio is his first film since leaving le Fresnoy.
