A young child observes the women in her mother's hairdressing saloon and is initiated into the secrets of their hair. Lucia, the hair dresser guides us through the suspended moments where her clients abandon their locks to her gentle care.

Laurence Garret worked for many years with directors and photographers, before being swept away by the idea of directing. She made a TV documentary, L'ombre et la main, in 2007. Les cheveux coupés is her first short.
