Born in 1972, Eric Montchaud studied international economics in Paris. At the same time, he taught himself to create animated films. He joined the Poudrière school of animation in October 1999. There, during two years, he would experiment essentially with different volumes and cut paper for his animations. He directed two films, Le Trou and Les Animals.
