A family is on its way to Turkey in an old Mercedes. On the roof there a fridge containing the lifeless body of their mother, who father Hasan wants to bury in the soil of his native country. Ayse, the daughter, finds it hard to accept her father’s wishes.

Born to a Kurdish-Turkish couple, Murat Kilinc discovered writing as a teenager during a trip to Gaziantep, his home town. Shortly after his return, war broke out in Syria. The situation prompted him to write down what he saw in notebooks in
French, anxious not to forget the language of the country he had grown up in. A multi-talented, self-taught artist, he has experimented with many things without straying far from his roots: acting in 34 Seconds Liberty by Beraat Gokkus, writing
and acting in the next film by Moroccan director Mohammed Fekrane, Youyou Wedding. Le Printemps des miens is his first feature film as a director, and is produced by Vilanova Productions.
