The reunion of two friends who have lost contact, approaching their thirties with desillusionment. Francesco has decided to take part in a break-in organized by his uncle and wants Bruno to participate, as well as an old partisan. They are planning to steal an Etruscan vase, and use the money they can get for it to move to Africa and start new lives.

Maria Daria Menozzi and Gabriella Morandi have worked together on several documentaries in Italy and in Africa, as well as music videos and a short film adapted from "La marche de la mort", a novel by Marguerite Duras. "Le mosche in testa" is their first full-lenght film.
