Born in 1967 in the South of France, Alain Escalle studied the applied arts and TV and radio from 1983 to 1989. A digital artist and director since 1991, he focuses on and is developing a program of graphic and visual research into animation and new technologies. After a video film in 1994, D'après le naufrage, and after various trips to Japan, he decided to deepen his understanding of the far-East and to embody it in his first short film, Le conte du monde Flottant.
