Émilien, a young figurative painter, is taken in by a major collector who is preparing to move to Hong Kong. In the middle of a jumble of packing cases, they talk about painting. The collector unveils his vast and surprising collection of Old Masters. Rubens, Titian, Velázquez, Vermeer, Rembrandt, they are all there. Émilien finally understands that the owner of these hundreds of unknown masterpieces also collects the artists…

Thomas Lévy-Lasne (1980) is a painter and director. After studying at Fine Arts in Paris, he worked for art critic Hector Obalk, travelling the museums of Europe making television reports on art. In the cinema he has worked with Justine Triet, taking the lead role in her film Vilaine fille, mauvais garçon, and writing the screenplay of Victoria. Le Collectionneur is his first film.
