Sofiya Ilieva was born in 1985 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. After graduating at a National High School of Stage and Film Design (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) in 2003, she entered the National Academy Of Theater and Film Arts "Krastyo Sarafov" (NATFA) in Sofia, subject Animation. "Last autumn" is her graduation film.
