For the last fourteen years or so, two Dutch brothers, Egbert and Herman Joosten, have been living in a remote hamlet of Southern France. Altough they are under their mother's thrumb, in connivance with a young local girl they spend their days in a peculiar world.

Lodewijk Crijns was born in Eidohven (Netherlands) in 1970. From 1989 onward, he studied various artistics disciplines -Cinema, Theatre, Music and Photography- in Norway and in the Netherlands. He has made about fifteen video shorts and two 16mm shorts : "Vanitas" and "Theatreschool". In 1994, he was Bob Rooyen's assistant director for the feature film "Prime Time". "Lap Rouge" is his first middle-length film.
