Courbevoie, Suresnes, Saint-Denis, Vincennes, Pantin... This film is a documentary that wanders "in the land of poverty" that was the suburbs of Paris in the 1950s. To the sound of old Edith Piaf songs and accordion melodies, the film denounces violently the policies of intensive urbanisation, the conditions of the working class and loss of identity.

"What one sees in L'Amour existe is first and foremost an exploration of the space generated by a particular lifestyle. Trips on public transportation, the flow between centre and periphery. Houses in the suburbs, buildings, stairwells, interiors... Canals, factories, empty lots..." (T. Jousse) "I made this film after ten years in the depressing job of commercial traveller, and this left its mark on the film. L'Amour existe is unclear, but contains important truths." (M. Pialat)
