Alone in the middle of the vacant lot, an old man dressed in striped pajamas. He seems confused, disconnected, lost in a world of his own. Marion and Melanie, twelve and ten years old, best friends, walk up to meet him. It is getting late. Meekly, the old man lets himself be led to their refuge. Mélanie : - And now, what do we do ? Marion : - We're gonna keep him. For us. We're going to adopt him.

Born in Mexico City, Mexico, on 1970, Alain-Paul Mallard first studied Hispanic Litterature and Literary translation in his native city, then European Intellectual History in Toronto. He is also the author of the highly acclaimed book Evocation de Matthias Stimmberg (Bibliophane, Paris, 2003). Since 1996 he lives in Paris, where he studied filmmaking at La Fémis, and where he works as a film director.
