After an education in medicine, Rima Samman devoted herself to the language, history and civilisation of the East and of the Arab world. Since 1994, she has been preparing a thesis on socio-linguistic aspects of the Arabic language. At the same time, she has subtitled a documentary, short and feature-length film and occupies various positions for the filming and production of other films. Labané Achta is Samman's first short film.
