La Valse des veaux d'or
Chikmourad Ibragimbekov
Two old friends meet up again in the heart of Siberia in 1992. One is a member of the army in charge of the sanitary services at the local airport ; the other is a small-time criminal who has just been released from prison. He has a large quantity of gold on him which he would like to take to Moscow. But the only way of leaving Siberia is by plane.

A former student of the VGIK, Chikmourad Ibragimbekov's graduation film, "Doundoulei", was selected at PREMIERS PLANS in 1991. It was during this festival that he conceived the idea for "La Valse des veaux d'or", which he wrote with his father.
