Joanna Grudzinska was born in 1977 in Warsaw. After earning a Philosophy degree in Paris, she joined the directing department of the INSAS in 1999. After graduating, she worked as continuity person on several short and long films, including Mischka by Jean-François Stévenin. La Roue tourne is her first post-graduation short fiction.
