Dominique Rocher has made several short films which have been broadcast on TV (Canal +, France 4, HD1) including Fallin' in 2009, Heures sup in 2011 and La Vitesse du passé also in 2011. Since 2016 he has been developing a mini-series for Arte, La Corde. La Nuit a dévoré le monde is his first feature.

“Making a film, particularly a first film, is a first step, an attempt to open up to others. The movement of the film gives the trajectory, when a man who always looks inwards on himself is led to open up to the other. All sorts of metaphors can be seen in that. To a large extent it is a mental film. Things are seen from the point of view of the man character: deep down, he takes other people for monsters. What happens is therefore consistent with his vision of the world. I wanted to put myself at the crossroads between a very intimate feeling, that a lot of us can identify with, and its supernatural representation by genre films” (Dominique Rocher).
