Summer at the beach. People swim, yell, play and tan. Twenty-five-year-old Marie, who came alone to sunbathe and swim in the sea, loses her bikini bottom in the water. Half-nude, she can't bring herself to leave the water.

Born in France in 1974, Erika Haglund studied in the Editing department of the FEMIS from 1996 to 2000. There he directed Une semaine en bateau in 1998, Achille et Louise and Partie (Weg), a short film for ARTE, in 2000. La mer à boire is his first post-graduation short fiction.
