La Chaleur
Maïa Kerkour

In the torpor of summer, Juliette, Ben, Johanna and their children gather at their mother's house to watch over her body. Each of them invents a daily routine for themselves in this moment suspended by sun and death. They sweat. Soon, the body will leave the house.

After two years in a preparatory cinema class in Nantes, Maïa Kerkour, 22, completed several internships with producers and tried her hand at programming. Today, as a Master's student at EHESS, she is working on the practice of the filmed diary and is interested in the different forms of autobiographical writing, as well as the question of intimacy, identity and the emotional ties that run through families. Written in parallel with her studies, La Chaleur is her first short film.
