Yves Caumon was born in 1964. After studying Philosophy and Ethnology, he was a student at FEMIS from 1987 to 1991 in the Directing department, where he made three short films including l'Ami de la famille, which was awarded prizes at the Pantin and Dunkerque festivals. He has worked as first assistant director and scriptwriter. His first short film made after graduating, Il faut dormir , was presented at Angers in 1997 and was noticed in several festivals. La beauté du monde, which received First Prize at the Festival of Pantin, is his first medium-length film.
