Melrick, 13, is spending the summer in Cayenne, French Guiana, with his grandmother Nicole. His presence and his desire to learn to play the drum bring back the ghost of Lucas, Nicole’s son, also a drummer, who died tragically 11 years earlier. Confronted with the grief that haunts his family and the desire for revenge of Lucas’s best friend, Melrick charts his own path to forgiveness.
