2000 Fiction 1h20
Jacky, an unambitious, twenty-six year-old Chinese boy, lives with his mother in Eindhoven. Jacky rarely breaks his habits. He keeps to himself at work, preferring to daydream rather than to explore the outside world. His relationships with his co-workers on the train are limited to a humble daily hello. Only his friend Gary, a traveller met on a former voyage, manages to distract Jacky. Nevertheless, the calm of his well-worn habits is disrupted when his mother announces that it is time for Jacky to marry a Chinese woman and to leave the house. Jacky hardly has time to digest this news before he finds himself in a taxi on the way to the airport to pick up his future wife...
