Elena Solodkova was born in 1975 in Moscow. She spent her childhood on Sakhalin Island. From 1996 to 2001, she worked in the theatre as an actress and studied at the Theatre University in the directing department. From 2001 to 2006 she studied cinema direction at the State University of Cinematography (VGIK). Her teacher was Igor Geleyn. At the moment she is post-graduate student of VGIK and director of the film studio "Gamaun".
