Maxime Kathari was born and grew up in Geneva. When he was younger he acted in some films for television and the cinema, which enabled him to discover life on a set. At 18 he went to the Cinema department of the Haute école d'art et de design (HEAD) and earned his diploma in 2013. His graduation film, +1, was selected for the 26th edition of the Festival. At the end of 2014, he went to Brazil for 2 months to make his latest short film, O som da casa.
