Marine Mabila studied law before turning to film. She trained at the Lussas Documentary School, where she made Histoire de mon pays d’enfance, a film about growing up on a council estate, which was selected for the Grand Angle section of Côté Court. Following her studies, she worked as a programming assistant for the
Premiers Plans Festival and then for the Silhouette Festival. At the same time, she
devoted herself to her own projects, in particular writing a short fiction film in which she continued to question the links between politics and territory.
