Martin Smatana was born in 1991 in Slovakia, and graduated in Animation from FAMU in Prague. His graduation film, The Kite, premiered at the 2019 Berlinale, was shortlisted for the semi-finals of the Student Academy Awards, was included in the film collection of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art in New York) and has won over 60
international awards, including the Children’s Audience Awards in Annecy and Stuttgart. He recently published an illustrated book, A Year of Good News.
Veronika Zacharovà studied graphic design and then turned to animated film a illustration. During her studies at the UTB in Zlín, she made several short animated films, mainly for children. The films What Happened at the Zoo, The Bearytales and her graduation film House have been screened and won awards at festivals around the world. She created the visual identity and opening video for the 2019 Anifilm festival. She currently works as an animator at Amanita Design and also as a freelance illustrator.
