Kimiko, a young Japanese woman, is preparing to move to Switzerland to marry Philippe, against her father's wishes. She goes to visit her family on the eve of her departure.

Aya Domenig was born in Japan in 1972 but grew up in Switzerland. After studying Japanese, ethnology, and film at the University of Zurich, she enrolled in the Zurich Fine Arts Academy (HGKZ). Haru Ichiban is her graduation film.
