Simon Phillips
"Garden in the rain" is based on a short story by Isle Aichinger. It is 1956. Anna is seriously ill after a back-street abortion. She enters a Liverpool hospital and realises that to survive she must "undo" the events in her past that brought her there. Will she have time and the strength to succeed ?

Simon Phillips was born in Cardiff in 1956. From 1975-78, he studied graphic design at the Liverpool Polytechnic while making short experimental animation. In 1978 he started working as an animator and independant film- and videomaker in Liverpool and later in London. He enrolled at NFTS in 1985. "Garden in the rain" was his second film.
