Frederico Mesquita (born 1991 in Lisbon, Portugal) acquired his painting degree from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts in 2013 and his film degree from the Lisbon School of Theatre and Film in 2016. Between 2016 and 2020, he worked as an assistant to artist and director Gabriel Abrantes, collaborating on Diamantino (2018, winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes Critics’ Week). Since then, he has worked as head of production and post-production on films by directors such as Miguel Gomes, Marco Martins, João Nicolau and Mónica Lima. His school film, A Barriga de Mariana (2018), was part of the national competition at the IndieLisboa film festival. His new short film, Francisco Perdido, was presented at the Curtas Vila do Conde
