For her fourth film, Mia Hansen-Løve took inspiration from her own brother, DJ Sven Hansen-Løve, and set out to tell the story of the euphoria and effervescence of electronic music scene of the early 90's. A garage DJ in Paris in the 1990s and 2000s, at the very beginning of the French Touch, Sven Hansen-Løve becomes the fictional character of Paul in his sister's script. “Because Eden is an intimate and delicate chronicle of an era both near and far. Because this film is not a nostalgic journey but a portrait of a group – a band of friends and a collective of artists – which is beginning to show its cracks. Because the party scene has rarely been shown with such strength and grace. Because the soundtrack has made all of us dance at least one day in our lives.” (Télérama)
