Radim Filipec was born in Ostrava in 1975. After his film studies at the Film School of Pisek where he made John and Marry in 1999, he went on to study directing at FAMU in 2000. During his time there he made My name is (2001), After Rain (2001), White as snow (2002) and Fajn (2004).
