In Germany, a fifteen year old girl lives a clandestine existence with her family. Her parents, because of their illegal situation, try to raise their daughter without letting her communicate with the outside world. One day, the teenager falls in love. Born in Hilden, in 1960, Christian Petzold studied German and Theatre at the University of Berlin from 1982 to 1989. He also followed classes at the Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB) from 1988 to 1994 and obtained his diploma with the film Pilotinen. He made then six short films and two TV films Cuba Libre (1995) and Die Beischlafdiebin (1998). Die Innere Sicherheit is his first feature film.
