Born in 1972, Torstein Nodland studied at the TV school in Oslo. He then worked as a storyboard artist, video-filmmaker, and photographer, and in 1997 as an assistant director. He graduated from the DNF in 2000. Deep won the CILECT prize at Munich's Festival in 2001.
