Henriette, who works for a hotel cleaning staff in an industrial suburb of Brest, can no longer protect herself from the world around her. Her absent son, a man obliged to work far from home, and her desires met only with empty hotel rooms weaken her, and confront her with her a situation that has become unbearable...

After obtaining his degree in cinema at Paris I, Fabrice Main studied at the Louis Lumière National Film School from 1996 to 1999. During that time he worked as director of photography on several short films, as well as a feature-length film, Oriental Fever. From 1999 to 2000, Main worked for the film department of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Services in Beirut, Lebanon. Chante is his first short film as a director.
