Olivier Masset-Depasse
In the outskirts of an industrial town, Rita and her mother Nicole run a small, family-run butcher shop on the verge of bankruptcy. It has been 10 years since the death of Leo. Since then, Nicole has been cold and bitter, living in the shadow of her dead husband, clinging to his memory to the point of forgetting her own daughter. Rita lives in her mother's wake, hoping for a word or gesture of tenderness, as if her mother didn't even see her...

Olivier Masset-Depasse was born in 1971 in Charleroi, Belgium. In 1993, he obtained a degree in script, novel and musical composition writing from the European Writing University. He then studied directing for three years at the Institute of Broadcasting Arts (I.A.D.). In 1997, he directed Kosmos in the course of his studies, selected in Angers in 1998. Chambre froide is his first post-graduation short film.
