Yann Andréa, a provincial student, falls for the charms of the writer Marguerite Duras, simply by reading her novels. A passionate correspondence was struck up between them. Despite the age difference, Yann's past and his desire to finish with life, they meet. It is love at first sight, but the clock is ticking.

Josée Dayan began as an assistant to directors such as Claude Chabrol, Jean Delannoy and André Hunebelle. She made her first film, De vague herbes jaunes in 1972 and her documentary Simone de Beauvoir had a successful theatrical release in 1979. This was followed by several TV dramas and series such as Le Comte de Monte-Cristo, Milady, Les Liaisons dangereuses, Marie Octobre, Mourir d'aimer, Entre vents et marées… She directed Jeanne Moreau on TV, notably in Balzac, Les Misérables, Zaïde, un petit air de vengeance, Les Parents terribles, La Comtesse de Castiglione, Les Rois maudits, Sous les vents de Neptune, Château en Suède, Bouquet final and La Mauvaise Rencontre then on the big screen in 2001 for Cet amour-là. She also made a documentary on her entitled Jeanne M, côté cour, côté cœur. Since 2015, Josée Dayan has had great success with audiences with the TV series Capitaine Marleau with Corinne Masiero.
