One day Hai, a little boy who lives with his mother and his grandparents, catches a bird. Long, a bicycle rickshaw driver and a family friend, drives a carp through the streets of Saigon and the Mekong rice paddies for the mysterious Mr Chu. Throughout Vietnam everyone is getting ready to celebrate Trung N'Guyen, the feast of the wandering souls, to honour the souls of the forgotten dead...
