Noemi Schneider was born in Munich in 1982, and studied literature and science at the University of Munich. Christiane Schmidt was born in Lüneburg in 1978 and studied political science and the science of art at the University of Oldenburg. In 2004, they started studying documentary films, Noemi majoring in directing and Christiane majoring in Cinematography at the University of Television and Film in Munich.
