A young boy pretends to go to school and hides under a bridge. A teenage girl lies in tears on a bench at a bus-sop. A woman comes and picks them up and takes them to a hypermarket car park. The children get out of the car, the woman opens the boot and takes out a big bin bag. All three of them rush into the shop...

An actor by training, Xavier Legrand studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris. In cinema he has acted under Brigitte Sy in the feature Les Mains libres alongside Carlo Brandt and Ronit Elkabetz. He also appeared in several short films directed by Camille Pawlotsky, Nicolàs Lasnibat, Alexandre Zeff, Camille Lugan... In parallel to acting, he has developed work in writing, directing actors and staging. Avant que de tout perdre is his first script and first film as a director.
