Simon Maria Kubiena was born in 1998 and is based in Vienna and Berlin. He started studying directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2019 and spent a semester in Paris at La Fémis. In 2023, he embarked on a master’s degree in screenwriting at the London Film School. His short film Blaues Rauschen (2022) won an award at the 72 nd Berlinale. Simon is currently developing his first feature film The Flowering of a Chimera.
