Claudia works in a travel agency and leads a quiet, humdrum existence. She takes Russian lessons, where she meets Boris, a new teacher from the Ukraine, and she soon falls for him. At the end of July, Boris asks her to take in his cousin Olga, who is arriving from the Ukraine. Claudia is about to go off on holiday, but accepts to put up this unknown woman for a few days. Initially they are wary of each other, but the two women soon become very close...

Marina Spada began in 1979 as assistant director for RAI on the film Non ci resta che piangere. In the 1980s she worked in collaboration with the main advertising agencies and directed television programmes and documentaries. In the 1990s, she alternated between working at the Milan Film School and as a director. She has directed the short, L'Astice, winner of national and international awards and the feature video motion picture, Forza Cani.
