Anything but Sound is a portrait of a deaf family and their everyday life. Mother, father and their two little children are profoundly hearing-impaired. They exemplify a foreign and fascinating world within our society with an independant and beautiful way of communication.

Born in 1981, Peter Hecker was firstly a student, from 2005 to 2007, at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. Since October 2007, he has studied at the HFF Konrad Wolf in Potsdam-Babelsberg, where he has made several shorts. Alles ausser hören is the latest film he has made at this school.
