Before studying at the UNATC in Bucharest, Alexandru Badea did a BA in Romanian and English literature, then studies American and English literature in the UK, at the University of Kent. In 2016, Toate fluviile curg în mare, his fourth-year film, was selected to compete in Cannes, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Cairo International Film Festival.
