The Alice Comedies are a series of animated shorts produced by Walt Disney at the very beginning of his career in the 1920s. Treasures of inventiveness, humour and poetry, the films were led by Alice, a little flesh-and-blood heroine in a cartoon world. The famous Mickey Mouse series, launched in 1928, was only Disney's third, preceded by The Alice Comedies and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
