Elsa Amiel began her career as assistant director on Matieu Amalric's Le Stade de Wimbledon, and went on to work with Orso Miret, Eugène Green, Emmanuel Bourdieu, and Julie Bertucelli among others. In 2008 she continued her collaboration with Emmanuel Finkiel as an assistant and an actress in Nulle part, terre promise. Recently she was assistant director on Riad Sattouf's film Les Beaux gosses (The French Kissers), as well as Mathieu Amalric's Tournée (On Tour) de Mathieu Amalric and Bertrand Bonello's L'Apollonide, souvenir de la maison close (House of Tolerance). In 2007, she wrote and directed her first short, Faccia d'Angelo, l'introspection d'un boxeur, which won an award at Premiers Plans in 2008.
