José Prats is a Spanish film director living in London. He studied fine arts and began a career as an illustrator in Spanish, Mexican and Finnish animation studios. Between 2016 and 2021, he worked for the British studio Aardman Animations. In 2020, he directed Umbrellas, a 2D animated short selected at the Clermont-Ferrand
Film Festival. In 2022, he won a grant from the La Caixa Foundation to study animation filmmaking at the National Film and Television School in the UK. Adiós is his graduation film. José is currently developing Barro, a surrealist stop-motion romantic drama, and Gas, a live-action black comedy/drama.
