When he finished his drama studies at the Liège conservatory (1975-1979), Harry Cleven pursued a career in the theatre, whilst also acting in numerous films in Belgium and France. Between 1988 and 1990 he organised acting classes in Namur prison. This experience inspired the idea for his first film.
