Corneliu Porumboiu was born in Roumania in 1975. He graduated from the Universitatea de Arta Teatrala si Cinematografica (UNATC) in Bucharest. Among his short films are Graffiti (2000)and Gone with the Wine (2002). Calatorie La Oras was screened at several festivals and won many awards. He won second prize at the Cinéfondation Awards during the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
