A fourteen-year-old boy, Maurice, uses an amateur 8mm camera to film those around him. Through the lens he looks at his parents, his house and Casper, his younger brother. Then his father suddenly dies. Little by little, the gap between the two brothers widens, as each boy reacts differently to this first experience of death.

Marcin Pieczonka was born in 1974. After obtaining a degree in art history at the University of Cracow, he entered the department of Radio and Television at the University of Katowice, where he made Raskolnikow, Przystań (Harbour) and Wymarzenie (Indreaming). Opowiadanie was his final-project film.
