Emmanuel Marre was born in 1980 in Paris. After studying at the Sorbonne, where he got a masters in comparative literature, he worked as a video maker on Addict, Maryline Klein's theatrical creation developed from videos of people. He then went to study cinema in Belgium, at the IAD (Institut des Arts de Diffusion) in Louvain la Neuve. He made the documentary Beauté de secours, the radio plays Les Choéphores, Le Démon du jeu and the drama Michel, co-directed with Antoine Russbach, also presented in the School Films competition at Premiers Plans this year.
