With their mother's return uncertain, Baloo, a young teenager, and his siblings are left to fend for themselves. While they wait to be rehoused following the announcement that the Python-Duvernois housing estate where they live is going to be demolished, Diarra, the eldest in the family, tries to protect them from the truth. But Baloo is not fooled.
