A young man freed after 4 months of captivity in Syria puts his previous life behind him and goes to live in his childhood home in Goa, where he meets Maya, a young Indian woman.

Heroes wandering through the world with the inconsequence and cruelty of a passing visitor, on their way back up, waiting for healing without really looking for it. The same applies in Maya as to Hansen-Løve's previous protagonists, Gabriel is a journalist, a war reporter (…). He has the fine features of Roman Kolinka, already revealed in Eden as a man absent from his own existence (…).
